GENTLENESS

Gentleness is powerful. Steady, not showy. Persuasive, not pushy.

It doesn’t panic, retaliate, or fume.

Gentleness stands out in our loud and angry world. It is “the soft answer that turns away wrath” (Proverbs 15:1) and the power to forgive “seventy times seven” (Matthew 18:22).

Gentleness does what fear can’t and pride won’t.

Gentleness will not hide from pain. It endures its own and absorbs that which others cannot stand.

Gentleness sees what is broken and helps restore it.

Gentleness listens first, then speaks with purpose, acts with mercy, and gives grace upon grace.

Gentleness reminds us that there once was a Lion who became a Lamb.
