Day 8 // The Persecuted

Jan 15, 2025

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:10

Many know what it is to suffer as a believer, but how many of us really know what it is to suffer because we are a believer? Not to make it a competition, but there are those who know a level of persecution that most of us only read about. We must regard them, think of them, and pray for them. They are our brothers and sisters, members of our household who are hated, hunted, threatened, and some even tortured because they love our Savior. We must not separate ourselves from their sufferings, but rather join them by bearing their burdens through prayers and tears.

Pray

> For those who are being persecuted, that on this very day and at this very moment they will feel the presence and comfort of the Holy Spirit.

> Acknowledge that Christ endured catastrophic persecution and overcame the enemy’s plans. Praise Him for the love and power He demonstrated through His sufferings.

> That our church would be a house of prayer for the nations, that we would be always mindful of those who are enduring persecution for the sake of the Gospel.
