Day 7 // The Peacemakers
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” Matthew 5:9
Let’s assume that pretty much everyone we know has some turmoil inside—maybe a little, maybe a lot. Some are bogged down in regret, others are trying to outrun anxiety, and a few are choking on resentment. Many are simply overwhelmed. Then imagine what it would mean to these peace-deprived individuals if they were to encounter a true peacemaker. Maybe you. Because Christ has given you peace (see Rom. 5:1), you really are able to “bring the calm” if you choose to. We don’t need more arguing, belittling, or condemning voices; we need peacemakers—men and women whose faith is steady, whose words are wise, and whose lives honor Christ.
Pray:
> Confess to the Lord those things that are disturbing you. Be honest with God about all that troubles your soul.
> Give thanks that through the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ there is nothing separating you and God.
> That the people of our church will be “eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Eph 4:3).
