A Report of God’s Mercies 5.16.11

The change to prayer meetings EVERY Monday has not hindered the engagement and momentum of the life of pray that God is calling us to.  Following an amazing day Sunday that awakened us in an inspiring way to worship and prayer through The Lord’s Prayer and the song Manifesto, our Monday plan was to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in our prayers through The Lord’s Prayer.  We began with a time of worship focusing on the holiness (otherness) of God, calling out and praising him for all the aspects in his nature...

A Report of God’s Mercies 5.10.11

Another wonderful night of MONDAY PRAYER. The entire night was a time of praying for the lives of men and women who need Christ. Also encouraged to hear that two other churches were meeting at the same time tonight for revival prayer, others have met in the last few days. Bill is sharing with pastors in Pine Bluff Tuesday of what God is doing.. Great time of worship and prayer centered around Revelation 1 and the reminder that God has done these four things: He loves us He has released us from our sins He has placed us in His kingdom...

A Report of God’s Mercies 5.9.11

What a fantastic day the Lord gave us yesterday as we met until 1:15. God reminded us of the truth of Isaiah 43:18-19: Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. The Lord is graciously doing so many “new things” among us that we need to be “aware” of…we need to recognize and cooperate with in His merciful...

Observations on How the Spirit of God is Currently Leading us to Him in Prayer 5.7.11

As some of you may know, the Lord has graciously led us in five weeks of spontaneous nightly prayer meetings that have lasted 2-4 hours each night. It is a mercy drop of revival, but in my 42+ years of ministry I have never been involved in nor observed a moment quite like this and am amazingly and humbly grateful. And it is a PRAYER MEETING. The agenda every night has been to hear the direction through God’s word, open the microphone and shepherd all that happens into fervent, travailing prayer. Each night the Spirit of God has graciously...

Report of God’s Mercies 5.5.11

“I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do." (John 17:4) What a statement. To be able to come to the end of your life and say, “I have accomplished the work which You (God) have given Me to do.” The reason Christ could say this is that He “always did the will of His Father.” He was constantly living in two kingdoms, watching and listening to the Father, not resisting in the least what His Father told Him to do. He did what He saw His Father...

A Report of God’s Mercies 5.4.11

Another wonderful night of intercession. We began with a teaching from Isaiah 36 as we understood and prayed about the ways our enemy seeks to defeat us. This led to multiple moments of intercession for… A baby who is in trouble in her mother’s womb and her mother’s health also. A pastor and his church who had called in from Swansea, Wales regarding revival in their church and spiritual awakening in their valley and beyond. Praise for answered prayer regarding a child last week A lady in Georgia who requested prayer for revival in her city ...

A Report of God’s Mercies 5.3.11

Last night was the answer to a 12-year prayer for many people. Twelve years ago The Summit Church began out of turmoil and conflict in a sister church in Little Rock.  Although I have confidence that the start of The Summit was the absolute right thing to do in that situation and the years have indicated that by God’s grace, there was a lot of pain in that moment. Last night folks met at The Summit Church to pray—beginning the fifth week of unscheduled, spontaneous prayer. But also, a group of people from The Summit...

Report of God’s Mercies 5.2.11

The Lord gave us another incredible day yesterday as the two services “merged” into one and lasted until 1:15. Great times of worship and deep time hearing from God’s Word from John 15. I want you challenge us to not evaluate God’s movement just based on the amount of ministry/prayer time that occurs, but by this one criteria: “Is God present and pleased? Did we follow Him explicitly? Is He changing lives and being glorified?” As we enter into this 5th week of unscheduled prayer meetings, 3 very important things are occurring. 1. TONIGHT: As...

Report of God’s Mercies 4.29.11

One of the most beautiful things about what God is doing is the amount of biblical teaching that is occurring. Almost every night we are led to begin with a teaching from God’s word. Then, throughout the nights, much scripture is being read, expounded on, etc. This has been the pattern almost every night for the last four weeks. Also, as people share and we have the opportunity to shepherd these moments as God directs, the Lord is giving us grace to teach “off” these moments of personal testimony. For instance, last night we found ourselves...

Report of God’s Mercies 4.28.11

After a prayer meeting in a tornado Monday, and a postponement because of weather Tuesday, we gathered again Wednesday night. We began with a teaching on Isaiah 30 seeing together that repentance and rest (vs. 15) is the pathway to incredible salvation. God longs to be gracious and compassionate ad when we respond to Him he will hear and answer our prayers and we will hear His voice behind us. We are EXPERIENCING THIS in these days and it is incredible. From the beginning it was obvious that the theme for the night was overcoming hurt…dealing with bitterness and forgiveness. ...
