One Question Every Christian Should Ask

What's one question every Christian should ask you might ask?

            Am I making disciples?

Simple enough, right?  But think about it, Christ’s last words to the disciples in Matthew 28:19-20 are to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Although there are many questions one could draw from this passage, I think the first one every believer should start with is “Am I making disciples?”  If so, CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are being obedient to Christ’s last command (not his last suggestion by the way)!! If you are not making disciples, what’s your excuse?  What is holding you back from obeying Christ by making disciples and being one of His “witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth”? (Acts 1:8)

This is the part where I would love to rant about all the ridiculous excuses we use for not making disciples, but I simply want to encourage you in this post.  This isn’t a hard concept nor is it some ambiguous topic that requires you to search through scripture and understand every Hebrew or Greek word used in the verse.   It’s a simple tool I believe everyone should use to evaluate their obedience to the Great Commission.  So there you have it… One question every Christian should ask.

 “Am I making disciples”?
